In my opinion the early Olau ferry OLAU FINN was one of the nicest ships in service between Vlissingen and Sheerness. Well, I have never seen her but I want to show you a little bit more about the former SAGA (III).

18.10.1965: launch
02.05.1966: delivery, named SAGA
11.1971: to Stena Line AB, Göteborg (01.1972 renamed STENA ATLANTICA)
13.03.1972: service between Göteborg and Kiel
04.09.1972: service between Göteborg and Köbenhavn
13.03.1973: sold to Thomesto OY (Finnlines), renamed FINNPARTNER
09.04.1973: summer service between Helsinki, Nynäshamn and Travemünde.
05.09.1974: 10 crossings between Helsinki and Tallinn
01.12.1975: laid up in Helsinki
 
 

In Olau service between Sheerness and Vlissingen. The OLAU FINN runs full ahead!

24.03.1976: renamed OLAU FINN and passaged from Helsinki to England
01.05.1976: chartered to Olau- Line
15.05.1982: end of Olau charter
25.05.1982: went to Kaskinen, renamed FOLKLINER (chartered to Folkline)
28.05.1982: service between Kaskinen and Gävle
1984: to Minoan Lines Shipping S. A., Heraklion
10.11.1984. renamed FESTOS
02.1998: sold to Diler Ferryboat, Belize, renamed CAPTAIN ZAMAN I
1998: chartered to General National Maritime Co., Tripolis
