The World Wide Web makes it easy to share ideas and knowledge. This part of the site will contain articles about Audio, Theory and practical matters. If there is something you would like to add or maybe if you disagree with something you can send me an email.

  • Power supplies :     An extensive article on how power supplies for different equipment should be built and calculated. It refers mostly to end amplifiers, which need the largest power supply when it comes to current rating.
  • Class A :    This is a general article referring to class A amplifiers and how they are biased.
  • Grounding amps :     A not so easy subject for those who have built amplifiers and other audio projects. Hum and noise from false grounding is something very common. This article here is an attempt to clarify the subject in a simple way.
  • Heatsinks :    Here you can find anything you need to know about heatsinks. Their function, purpose, how they work, how you can calculate them and how to read the data books before you order them.
  • More on Heatsinks, some Thermodynamics :    What to be carefull of so you donīt have thermodynamic problems in your designs.
  • Benefits of active loudspeaker systems :    A list of the benefits of active loudspeaker crossovers over conventional passive crossovers.
  • Volume control :    This subject is one of the most interesting subjects for me and a lot of talk has been done over it. I want to present here different kinds of volume controls as I find them here and there. So this is more of a group of articles and not one. As many of you out there I am still trying to find what the best way is to control volume.
  • Wiring tube circuits   A short but very helpful list of what we should take in consideration when we wire tube circuits due to different problems that can come up. Problems that don't exist in solid state circuits.
  • Tuning a power supply transformer    Can this be done? According to this article it can do wonders. It is tried and the results are audible. Also a small list on what value to use for each transformer size.
