Hilda, dancing in a bar, is pestered by Gagul, who is known as a bandit. Kukuru, a teenager tries to help her, but he's helpless. Suddenly Laures, who is rumored to be Hilda's lover, appears and stops Gagul.
Later, on her way home, Hilda is kidnapped by Gagul's men. They bring her to his house. Laures would come to rescue her, she tells him, but Gagul has taken the necessary precautions: His house is protected by a magic shield.
While Kukuru is informing Laures about Hilda's disappearance, Roderick's search for Hilda leads him to the bar she works for.
The magic shield around Gagul's house gets destroyed. When Gagul comes to look after Hilda, he finds her in Laures' arms. Though Hilda begs Laures to let Gagul go, he kills him. Hilda leaves shocked and angry.
A few moments later, Teteiyus shows up and begs Laures to return to Makai (the demonworld), 'cause sooner or later he would die in the humanworld. Laures refuses.
Hilda tries to escape Gagul's house and nearly gets killed by some sharks. Rod finds and saves her. The meeting with Rod confuses Hilda. He tries to embrace her, but she pushes him back. After Rod has found out that Hilda's memories have been erased, he tells her that she has been kidnapped by Laures and that their people, the Azel, have been killed by him.
Laures meets Hilda on her way home. Rod shows up and attacks him immediately. Hilda tries to protect Laures. Rod is shocked. Laures casts a sleeping spell on Hilda to fight Rod and to keep her from seeing his real demonic appearance. Rod is no match for him, but before Laures can end the fight and kill Rod, he senses a strange power nearing. He decides to leave for now. Rod is found by Arsbal and Rabi, who try to help him.
Rod dreams of the slaughter of the Azel and learns that he's destined to wield the holy Azel sword. When he wakes up, he meets Asbal and Rabi.
In Makai Laures recovers from his strain. Teteiyus is worried and offers him to give him everything he demands but Laures refuses; all he wants is Hilda. In order to get rid of Hilda, Tetei frees the Makai Shôgun Zadei but soon he finds himself being Zadei's victim. Zadei implants a jewel in Teteiyus' chest, which he would let explode if he'd find out that Tetei betrays him. Then he and his demons attack the village.
Sheril gets very ill. To get money for her medical treatment, Hilda decides to dance for the Earl of Berk castle. Before that she gets kidnapped and nearly killed by Gagul's widow Belle who thinks Hilda is responsible for Gagul's death. The Azel sword comes out of Hilda's body and she kills the kidnappers. Rabi who has watched the scene tries to get the sword but it's sealed in Hilda's body again. Then Hilda dances for Berk, who invites her to his castle. Hilda agrees and soon learns that he's a very cruel and insane man. After Berk won't let her go, Laures shows up and helps her. Berk recognizes Laures' true nature and wants to possess him. For that he allies with Zadei and let his castle become a part of the Makai.
Hilda wants to know if Laures is a demon but he avoids her question and tells her that she's the only person who is able to kill him. She wonders if this has something to do with that strange sword in her body.
Later when Hilda comes home, Sheril is missing. Hilda and Laures finally find her at the forest. There she has found Tetei unconcious after he was fallen from the sky and thinks him to be an angel. When Tetei senses Laures' arrival, he flees. Laures who seems to know it was Tetei who has released Zadei, follows and warns him.
