This one is similar to those slide puzzles you played with as a child on a road trip. Move the pieces around by clicking on them with your mouse.

I've played something like that on my Atari when I was a kid.

Abalone
Eject six of the opponent's marbles from the board. Play alone or with a friend on your computer.

AiRescue
Vaguely reminiscent of the old computer game Chopper, you fly a helicopter in a rescue mission in this game. Do well, and advance through the levels.

Alien Invasion
Shoot the aliens and avoid getting shot!

An Adventure Game
Definitely worth a try. This cool java game is loads of fun. It's like a graphical version of Zork!

Armada
This java-battleship game is fun to play and fairly quick to load. If you register your name, it will also add you to the high score list (if you score high enough).

Attack of the Flarb
Armed with a GULLET-1 cannon, you must kill the Flarb!

Attacktris
The basic idea is to destroy all of your opponents pieces while sustaining as little damage to your own pieces as possible. It is still in alpha testing stages and the instructions are rather complex, but the game looks promising.

Balances
The game took a while to load, but it's a pretty cool text-adventure game along the lines of Zork. If you have some free time on your hands, be sure to check it out!

Ballistic Game!
Try to change the variables to hit the target. Challenging!

Bareknuckle Boxing with Casey
This one may take a little while to load, but it's rather amusing. Virtual boxing - and it doesn't hurt!

Berries
A popular web game where you try to convert all the berries to the color you are playing. Sometimes called Ataxx.

Big Shrooming Wurm
This game looks susiciously like Centipedo, except the centipede parts are a little big. It's hard to get use to the movement of the shooter at first, but it is fun after you get the hang of it. (You will need java for this game).

Blocks
Another game that is similar to Tetris.

Cabeem
This is an addicting game! Take out the blocks in groups of two or more - the bigger the block, the higher the points. Try to take out as many as possible before coming to a draw. What's your high score?

CafeGame
The object is to get rid of all the smiley faces.

CafeSweeper
This java-based game looks suspiciously like Minesweeper, but instead of mines, you are trying to avoid the coffee cups! Fun, though the numbers are somewhat hard to read. The game keeps a high score list for those that do extremely well.

Car Jam
You're late. Your car is in traffic. Move the cars or blow them up.

Carpet Golf
Miniature Golf, web style. Has a few different practice courses to try out. Great for the closet golfer.

Centipedo
This is an exciting and fast-paced version of the arcade game Centipede.

Chessed
You'll need java to play Chess here, but registration is free and the site boasts over 7,000 members. You can play games in real time against other players, and have your games rated.

This java-based server allows you to connect and play a variety of multiplayer games in realtime with others.

Coal to Diamonds
This puzzle requires you to change all the pieces of coal to diamonds. Challenging, but there is a solution!

Colour Game
Attempt to get lines of 5 or more coloured pieces in a row in this java logic game.

CopyCat
You are given a 3D design which you must reconstruct. Varying levels of play.

Cross Section
This is an excellent side-scrolling java game. Help Pixel Pete, the penguin, climb to the top of a rotating tower while gathering objects and avoiding spiders! Definitely worth a try, but make sure you have some extra time on your hands!

Cyphersphere
An interactive crytogram game. Difficult, but fun.

Daleks!
You control a little guy. You have two sonic screwdrivers and the ability to teleport. You must survive all of the red guys out to get you. It is not as easy as it looks.

A great game of darts!

Dead Eye Saloon
A pretty good version of Five Card Stud. Play Jokers Wild, or nothing Wild.

Classic dominoes in a java applet.

Dots
This is that game where you try to make square, one line at a time. You can play against the computer. This game requires Java.

Electromagnetic Web Poetry
Inspired by those magnetic poetry kits, this is a web version. You could be the next Keats.

A game similar to Araknoid.

Farkle
A very cool and very fun dice game! [Requires Netscape 3.0]

Fedora
FEDORA is a "shoot the enemies" type game. The player pilots the green ship and destroy magenta colored enemy ships. Slow to load, but can be fun to play.

Five Field Kono
Move your pieces to the opposite side of the board before your opponent to win. Smooth animation, quick to load.

Flipper
Try and get all the squares pink. Harder than it looks.

A quick java version of Connect Four. You can play with a friend or against a computer.

Gothic Windows Puzzle
Rotate the pieces in the puzzle to make it look like the final product. Very difficult.

Guess What?
You get a category. You get a string of letters with no vowels. You figure out what the string is actually supposed to say. Several different categories to choose from.

This is a fun maze where you try to rescue the clowns without being caught by a ghost. This game requires Java.

This excellent and fast paced game doesn't even take very long to load!! Sort of like Hockey meets Tron.

An incredibly cool game - Good graphics and easy to play!

Internet Park
The Internet Park requires no download and offers a variety of games such as Boggle and Scrabble. You can play with others across the 'net, or take part in a two week test to find all the words you can in one Boggle game. This site requires registration and charges for use after a 20 day trial period.

A web version of the Pachinko game. Fun!

This is a cool, fast loading java version of Yahtzee. Worth a look for Yahtzee fans!

jPong
A spiffy little java version of that arcade classic, Pong. Play against the computer (use your mouse to move) or against a friend (friend uses arrow keys on keyboard).

Jupiter Saves the Universe
A game based on the cartoon Sailor Moon. Your job is to save as many penguins as possible, as quickly as possible.

This is an on-line adventure, so hang onto your chair. You are Director of Operations Jurassic Park Hollywood, and you have to face the labyrinth of the InGen rooms! This game requires Java

This java dice game is similar to Yahtzee, but uses coloured dice instead of numbered dice. It can be played by yourself, or with another person at your computer.

Tetris game with a twist. You will need to click the Java demo link, and have a java enabled browser.

Gyruss game, in 3D, fun classic. This game requires Java.

Lights On
The object of the game is to turn all the lights on. It can be infuriating at times, but it's fun.

Avoid the wolf. Guide your bunny through the woods/dungeon. Have fun.

This is an awesome interactive text adventure game. It uses frames and javascript, but is tons of fun to play. Check it out!

This is a beautifully done javascript version of the classic game Mancala. It loads fairly quickly and plays realistically. Check it out!

A multiplayer version of Yahtzee with a chat interface. Not too pretty, but loads nicely.

Nim Skulls

This variety of java-dart games is well written, smooth and fun to play. It offers both one and two player versions.

An excellent and well designed version of tic-tac-toe that allows you to play with other people across the Internet.

An excellent web version of PacMan! Looks like the real thing!

Pang!
This is an extremely fun, extremely cool-looking arcade game! It takes several minutes to load, but the graphics and gameplay are great!

Paper, Scissors, Rock
A quick and dirty version of rock, paper, scissor, with a semi-intelligent AI. Cute graphics.

Try this game of turn-based strategy against up to five opponents and Interactive tutorial in Shockwave

Pass the Pigs
An odd, yet fun java game where you roll a pair of pigs like dice and try to get a high score.

PegDelux
Check out this great 3-D version of the classic Peg game, done in java! It may take a few minutes to load, but the graphics and gameplay are well worth the wait. The creator of the game also keeps a high score sheet for those extra-good games.

Pentalpha
The game is played on a star-shaped board. The idea is to move the gold balls until they get to the intersections or the points of the stars (these points are marked by red dots).

A cool slider puzzle with a "Wheel of Fortune" type element thrown in.

This is a funky version of regular solitaire. Loads fairly quickly and is a lot of fun to play. It's also a good way to learn how to play the regular card version.

Robot Avengers
Your objective is to get all of the robots on the game board to destroy themselves. You can destroy them by moving in such a way that two robots try to occupy the same space at the same time. Then, they are eliminated into a pile of useless rubble. Takes a little while to load.

Rocks in Space
This arcade style game is guaranteed to take hours of your time. Loosely based on the Asteroids video game, the object is the same - shoot everything that moves!

Rolling Cubes
Challenging puzzle! The object is to make the blocks the opposite colour then when you started.

Run21
This game is a cross between speed and blackjack. You have 40 seconds to get 5 hands as close to 21 as possible. Go!

Scrambler
Choose a difficulty level and then unscramble the picture to make it whole again. Great for kids!

Sea-Battle
Play a java-based battleship game against the computer.

Shanghai
This java applet is a take on the ancient Chinese game mah-jonng. It is nicely implemented and even keeps a scoreboard of the top 100 high scores!

Match up the cards against a computer opponent. You can choose the computer's level of play.

Smart Games
Play two excellent games at this site: Car Jams and Anagrams. A little slow to load initially, but runs quickly while playing.

Snail's Race
A rather simplistic game for kids. Race the snails to the finish line. Could take a while.

Snake
You're a snake. You like eating things. But when you eat things, you get bigger. Don't hit your tail, your body, or the wall, or it's byebye for you!

Sol
Try and end the puzzle with one planet in the centre. A real challenge!

Solaria
In the year 2025, can you survive against other players across the world in a struggle for survival? You must register to play, but it is free and all you need is a browser.

Solitegg
This java-based game is similar to the Peg board solitaire game, but it uses eggs instead, and you can advance up different board layouts as you solve the puzzles. Neat interface, fresh looking graphics.

Space Invaders
The classic arcade game, rendered on the web with java. Awesome!

SpiderMan Slider Puzzle
16-piece sliding puzzle with the famous Spiderman.

A fun shoot 'em up type game! Fairly quick to load.

Stones
A java game similar to Go. Relatively easy to play, but unstable on some systems.

Stratego
This is a two or four player real-time game based on the board game by the same name. It is sort of a "Capture the Flag" type game.

Surf H2O
Cool little game! You can surf to your hearts content, and it never hurts when you fall!!

Swine Sweeper!
Minesweeper addicts, check this one out! This java version of minesweeper uses Pigs instead of Mines, and plays and feels like the original Minesweeper! Worth a look!

Tank Force
As the title suggests this is a shooter/strategy tank game. It is remmended you have the 4.0 versions of Netscape or IE and Java is required.

TankBattle!
A VRML 2.0 demolition derby. Play a tank, demolish the others. Only one will survive - will it be you?

Tantrix
This is an interesting game. Described as a cross between backgammon and the Japanese game Go, the object of Tantrix is to produce lines and loops of a specific colour using a set of hexagonal tiles, each with a unique combination of red, green, blue and yellow links. You can play by yourself, or online with others. Beware, it's a little complex to get the hang of.

Tarot
Not exactly a game, you can get daily tarot readings at this site. Find out what lies in your future!

Escape the 5-level basement in this action arcade game.

The Black Box
Rather scientific game where you must guess where the particles are.

the Cranium
You have a certain number of coloured blocks. Put them in the grid so that no two colours touch. Quick puzzle.

The elements
Catch the four elements in the spinning cylinder to activate the 5th element. This game requires Shockwave.

The Enigma Device
If you like to work out scrambled phrases, check this out. It requires Java and it is a great new challenge everyday.

The Geckoplex
A few of these games require shockwave. Play Shufflers, Keywords, The Griddle, and Revenge of the Fool. The site is very cool! You have to sign up, but it is free

The Park Game
Learn the shapes and names of Polish National Parks in this java based game.

The Safety Match Game
If you take the last match, you lose. Can be played with up to 60 matches to start.

The Scotsman Crossword
This is an excellent crossword puzzle applet that changes once a week. It's both challenging and pleasing to the eye. Check it out!

The Simulator
This game will make you appreciate your own life! It allows you to experiance a typical monotonous life!

Topography
This game is a great way to brush up your topography skills. You play a helicopter pilot who needs to fly to certain cities all over the world. The cities are not marked on the map. Only a small beacon appears when you are in the vicinity of a city. Your job is to travel to as many cities as possible in a limited amount of time. Educational!

This java applet is a cool little version of the classic Tower of Hanoi.

Train-Ominoes
A little like dominoes, this java game's object is to have the fewest points at the end of the 13th round of play. Interface is a little slow to load, but is fun to play.

Treasure
This funky game has you exploring some caves for a few treasures. You must find objects to help you overcome the guardians of the treasures along the way. It requires a big screen (maximize your browser window) to play.

Tremingo
Says the web page: "Every playing field has one or more entrance squares through which you start your trip. After your first move, they change into exit squares. Pass over any... Whoops ! The game is over." Try it out!

Triumph
The object of the game is to remove all the pegs but one. Can you do it?

This is a fun trivia game! You have seven questions to answer and if your score is high enough you win a prize! This game requires Java

Trullatris
This is a wacky version of Tetris done in a 3-dimensional "well" like area. Pieces come down on all sides, and you must rotate them to fit in the bottom. Challenging!

Tube the Salt River
Ever play the arcade game Toobin'? This java applet is very similar. Keep your tuber on the bottom half of the screen, and avoid the sharks!

Twisted Tales
This is java rendition of some rather amusing Mad Libs. Fun to use and fast to play.

Unearthed
A unique adventure game. Takes a while to load, but definitely worth the wait!

Virtual Vegas
Lots of different games to play here. Low-bandwidth/high-bandwidth options. [Requires Netscape 3.0 or equiv.]

Visual Cars
Try not to crash into other cars while collecting missing pieces of the picture. Loads fast, plays smoothly.

WarZone
You're in a tank. Blow the other tanks up, and try not to get blown up yourself. Runs a little slow under Netscape.

If you like to play Eurchre, now you can anytime. Get on line and play with people all over the world. You will have to register and this game requires java.

Now you can play hearts against others on the web! If you like card games try this one out! You do have to register and this game requires java.

Your goal is to guess the computer's magical Jotto word in a game similar to MasterMind. Not extremely pretty, but functional and fun to play.

This online version of the card game Spades is played with other people real-time across the 'net! [Requires Netscape]

WebStrike
This real-time tactical war game loads fairly quickly and has a great interface! Play across the 'net by yourself or with others! Worth a look!
