Enzymes To Help With Digestion

Posted on April 17, 2009 by Monte

Most raw food, like our bodies, is very perishable. When raw foods are exposed to temperatures above 116 degrees, they start to rapidly break down, just as our bodies would if we had a fever that high. One of the constituents of foods which can break down are enzymes. Enzymes help us digest our food. Enzymes are proteins though, and they have a very specific 3-dimensional structure in space. Once they are heated much above 118 degrees, this structure can change. Once enzymes are exposed to heat, they are no longer able to provide the function for which they were designed. Cooked foods contribute to chronic illness, because their enzyme content is damaged and thus requires us to make our own enzymes to process the food. The digestion of cooked food uses valuable metabolic enzymes in order to help digest your food. Digestion of cooked food demands much more energy than the digestion of raw food. In general, raw food is much more easily digested that it...

Warm weather means fun in the sun and showing off your feet. However, many Americans are embarrassed by their toes because they suffer from toenail fungus, or onychomycosis. Although it is one of the most common podiatric conditions, onychomycosis can become a serious infection when it goes untreated. The risk of an untreated local infection becoming a systemic problem can be life threatening. People with diabetes and smokers are most vulnerable to fungal nail infections. Other risk factors for onychomycosis include nail trauma, poor hygiene and aging. Fortunately, there s a podiatrist-recommended treatment that kills the germs that cause fungal infections that can lead to onychomycosis. With nonprescription Mycocide NS, you can treat fungus infections without removing nail polish or...

I wish I didn t have lousy vision so I don t have to wear my contact lenses ever again. So you dropped a contact lens, what s the big deal. Contact lenses are made of clear transparent material that are invisible to an observer when placed on the eye. They are normally worn by the person to correct for blurred vision. How do you think a person who has blurred vision feels when he or she has to search for a nearly-invisible, very small object without the optical aid that he or she normally uses for close range vision. That s right. If you see your friend...
