Memorabilities of the SURFIN' SEEKERS
(Messages to and from the SEEKERS)

Back in 1967, after having saved my pocket money for some weeks, I bought the very first single of my life. It was, you guess 'Georgy Girl' by the Seekers at that time in the British charts.
Well, the single is still existing (and by the way not too much scratched).
If somebody would have told me at that time, about what my relation to the Seekers and their music would have been in a little more than 30 years ahead...................

Here, I would like to show you some of the things circling around the Seekers, their music and this chat group I am / we are a little bit proud of.........

On Judith's birthday in 1998 I prepared on behalf of the group a birthday wish along with this certificate

We got the following very nice answer from Judith

Also some of the other Seekers sent us a reply to our birthday wishes for them:

Keith Potger's thank you for our birthday card (made by Keith S. from Tasmania) in March 1998

I’m writing to say a very big thank you to all of you in the Seekers Chat Group, for your kind thoughts and good wishes on my birthday. I was completely bowled over by the trouble you’d all gone to. Your wishes arrived on the day of my birthday and because of them, I enjoyed a celebration that spanned both days of the weekend! You all helped to make it a very enjoyable occasion.

With love,

Keith Potger.

Keith Potger and Judith Durham replied to our Christmas wishes (made by David S. from England) in 1998

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY FESTIVE SEASON AND MANY WONDERFUL RETURNS!!!!!!!

You are all so conscientious to keep in touch the way you do. (It gives a whole new new meaning to the word "groupies").

Thank you Peter Kington from me personally for your message regarding GUARDIAN ANGEL/GUIDING LIGHT. It occupies a special place in my heart and I am delighted to know that it can influence people in the way you describe.
Keep playing it!!!

Thank you everyone for your dedication and focus. We talk about you often in the most positive way. Have a great 1999.

With best wishes

Keith Potger

Dear Chat Group,

I am overwhelmed with the Christmas Card you have sent via your "primus interparis", Peter Otten, David Smith and Graham Simpson. It's incredible to think of the amount of organisation and time you must have spent in bringing such wonderful messages to the boys and me. Thank you so very much, all of you.

May I in turn quote to you a little song I wrote back in about 1970, and which was first printed in the first Christmas newsletter for the JD fan club, run at the time by Tim Hubbard ("The Judith Durham Club") in the U.K.:

"It's Christmas time for everyone,
Whether in snow or in the sun,
Ring those bells,
All is well,
A merry Christmas to everyone!"

Much love and peace to you all,

Judith xxxx

Athol Guy  replied to our birthday wishes in 1999 (as usual via Graham Simpson)

DEAR GRAHAM.
I HAVE JUST PICKED UP A WONDERFUL LIST OF BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FROM SOME VERY SPECIAL FRIENDS.
MANY THANKS FOR BEING THEIR COLLECTIVE VOICE, AND PLEASE PASS ON TO THE GROUP MY JOY AND DELIGHT TO FIND SUCH MESSAGES FROM THEIR INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE HEARTS.
WE SOMETIMES FORGET THE BOND OUR MUSIC HAS FORGED WITH THEM,
BUT THANKS TO YOU AND THEM - A REMINDER BRINGS MUCH HAPPINESS.

VERY WARM REGARDS TO ALL. XXXXX ATHOL OF BASS.

For our 1999 Christmas card to the Seekers (made by David S.) Judith Durham was so kind to send us this message

Dear Members of the Chat Group,

Just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you all at Christmas, and hoping you have a very happy and peaceful time.
It was wonderful to see the amazing card all of you in the Chat Group have sent me in cyberspace this year.
Thank you so very much for its message, and for the cheery appearance of the design.

It's hard to believe that another year has passed - and of course that is a whole year that you have all been chatting to each other in cyberspace. That's amazing.

Thankyou so very much for your support and appreciation.

Have a wonderful celebration at the turn of the century, at the dawn of the next millennium -
let's hope it is a future of peace, love and understanding throughout the world and throughout the galaxy.
Who knows what lies around the corner for us all.

I send my love out around the world. Happy Christmas.

JUDITH DURHAM xxx
