Surfin' Seekers  members meeting
THE SEEKERS
after their Bournemouth concert
farewell-01.JPG (24173 Byte)

A dream came true for the greatest gathering of Surfin' Seekers members ever after this concert.
With the help of our good friend from Australia, Graham Simpson, backstage passes could be arranged.
So we met our fab four and it was the most enjoyable "chaos" ever experienced.

Ian Dowland, another member of our "poetice tribe" from Shakespeare's country,
brought the excitement of expectation to the point with the following text,
"timbered" of various song titles sung by the Seekers and Judith Durham

Well, Well, Well; Go Tell It On The Mountain; that the Morning Has Broken; like I knew it would and today
we are going to where
The Water is Wide; at Bournemouth so Open Up Them Pearly Gates; and Don't Think
Twice, It’s Alright;
as we are coming in the Wreck of The Old 97; (You think I'm Kidding).
I am going to stand on Bournemouth Pier today
Blowin In The Wind; to Chase Them Blues Away; If I have
any that is, and from there on the pier I should see
On The Other Side; of the water the Far Shore; of the
Island of Dreams; (That is the Isle Of Wight for those of you that do not know the area).
Then
Walk With Me; in a World Of Our Own; back to The BIC where we will have a Whisky in The Jar; or a
beer I
Can't Make My Mind Up; and toast to Joy To The World; and to those who said I Wish I Could Be Here;
Then it will be time to go into the auditorium to listen/see Judith Durham and The Seekers, and I shall be
California Dreamin; that they will sing all my favourite songs and I will sing along to All I Can Remember;
which will be most of them.
Then during the interval I shall see what is for sale in the way of CD's ect. and like a
Sinner man; I shall buy
what I do not already have and go back to my seat for the 2nd half
With The Swag on My Shoulder; and at
the end of the show when Judith and The Boys sing
The Carnival is Over; we will all be wiping away the tears
with our hankies.
After the Concert we are going Backstage with Peter Otten and our Surfin Seekers Friends, and if I get a
chance I will say to The Fab Four that
You've Got A friend; and a lot more, and please remember that This
Land Is Your Land;
and you are welcome back here at any time, I will say that It's Hard To Leave; but leave
I must and face my
Future Road; back home.
I shall leave The BIC in Bournemouth with the feeling of One World Love; and the hope that Someday,
Oneday; Judith and The Boy's will come back to us with the Joy To The World; that they always bring.
Next week I was going to travel the Five Hundred Miles; to The Emerald City; (Dublin) but that was cancelled,
so I will go to Birmingham and Manchester instead.

And here are some scans of pictures many of our members are "longing" for :-)))
(the quality of the scans is "close to a catastrophy" - sorry about that !!! - but the orginals are sharp and clear)
