Log-book about my home pages
Juli / August 2000
The time after the UK concerts kept me busy with all
the updating and new pages resulting from our concert memories.
June 2000
The month of the UK concerts brought lots of new
pictures and reports to our homepage.
May 2000
Our "Thank you for the Music" booklet as a
present to the Seekers for their last tour was finished and scans of the pages of these
booklet were uploaded.
March 2000
Thought I would be high time to give my homepage the
necessary and overdue "Millenium face lift".
Also introduced some new pages.
Rest of 1999
Had to put priority on other aspects of my private
and professional life. However, did the 1999 SURFIN' SEEKERS poll.
April 1999
Started with the first up-date. Rearranged the
'Welcome-page' to let it look handier. Also tried to eliminate some faults in layouts.
Then I got a lot of new material, mainly photos, from the group members which were worth
to be included.
The SURFIN' SEEKERS poll was published for the first time.
March 1999
Did a lot of corrections and drafted further pages.
The second beta-version was transferred.
Being a bit under time pressure, decided not to do all the sub pages with this first
version, but wait until this first set runs smoothly.
Gave info to a selected no. of people to test the page. Eventually it was made public
around the mid of March.
Only the page about our poll is not yet on the server.
Substantial rearrangements of the music sheet pages are also necessary.
February 1999
After contacts with good cyber friends in Denmark and
Finland the first steps to put the homepages into real life started.
Designed a logo for the Surfin' Seekers.
Made first drafts of ideas with DTP programmes, started the
scanning of pictures and their 'treatment'.
Got intensive private lessons by my son Lars about the design
of homepages, made many experiences on trial and error basis.
Decided that as a start my homepages should be "static
ones" with not too much movements and gimmicks, but with some self made graphics and
designs.
Contacts with homepage providers.
On February 24, the first beta-version of the homepage part
about the SURFIN' SEEKERS was transferred to Tripod, my provider......and I realized that
still a lot of things had to be improved and a lot of things hat to be learned...
January 1999
The vague idea, for many many months already, to
design an own homepage as well as a website for the Seekers Cyber Chat Group was changed
to a definite decision.
A brain storming about how these pages should look like
started.
First 'encounter' with Netscape Composer, a programme to
design home pages.
