THE LIGHTHOUSE AND THE STACKS OF DUNCANSBY

Duncansby Lighthouse

The Stacks of Duncansby are an example of Coast Erosion in Caithness, in the far north-east of Scotland, near John O'Groats.

SUTHERLAND
This county to the west and south of Caithness is still very much a Gaelic landscape with a Norse background. This is Tongue or Tunga in Gaelic, from Old Norse Tunga = Tongue.
If you seek loneliness, this is the place for you.
