you would like to know something about me? My name is Miriam,
I'm 22 and I live in Germany. I study German and English at the Johann
Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. I've been a Paul Simon fan
since - well, since The Capeman, his musical, came out, but I first listened
to Simon & Garfunkel when I was 9 years old.
At
that time, I got a cassette
(this is the original "Greatest Hits" tape which started my "obsession"!)
of them, and this is how it started actually. Later I got to know all the
well-known Paul Simon tunes and more and more. And now here I am...Paul
Simon's songs have changed my life in a wonderful way, they make me see
things with different eyes. The pleasure of dealing with his great lyrics
is one of the main reasons why I wanted to study English (and in my opinion
there should be classes about songwriters!).
His
talent as a musician and songwriter speaks for itself. Without his music,
my life would be really boring. Almost five years ago I decided to
make a homepage (named after one of my favourite Paul Simon songs, "The
Cool, Cool River"), a tribute to Paul Simon, and I hope you like it.
