I have decided to remove the DLL-Version of The!Checker, because it is just 180k smaller than the Standalone-Version.
The Standalone-Version should run on every Windows system without the need of additional DLLs.

Installation:

Extract the downloaded ZIP-File to a directory of your choice (e.g. c:\Program Files\The!Checker)
Execute piccheck.exe from this directory.
If you want, create a Shortcut to the executable on your Desktop (or Start Menu).

Running the program for the first time:

Read "Getting Started" in the Online-Help first
Go to the "Options Menu" and set the "Collection Defaults"
Go to the "Options Menu" and set up the "CRC-Cache"
Set up Collections and check.

WEB-News-Fix

Some of you might use WEB-based Newsreaders like www.remarq.com, mailandnews.com etc. for downloading files from newsgroups.
Sometimes files downloaded from those WEB-Newsreaders have a wrong crc.
This is a bug in the servers UUE-encoding/decoding mechanism.
All files which have a size of (x * 45) + 14 will have a wrong crc.

deremarq.exe is a program which reconstructs corrupt files downloaded from Web-based Newsreaders.
