Buster Keaton is universally acknowledged as one of the greatest movie comedians of all time. Today, over 75 years after his last silent comedy was made, his reputation has, if anything, increased. Nicknamed 'Buster' when he fell down a flight of stairs unharmed as a baby, by age of four he was in his parent's vaudeville act. Buster later described it as the roughest knockabout act ever. The law wouldn't allow a child to juggle or do acrobatics, but nothing said his father couldn't throw him through scenery or into the audience - so he did! But it also gave him his immense acrobatic skills, comedy timing and his famous 'deadpan' look. When the act broke up, Buster discovered the movies thanks to Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle. By age 24 he was starring in his own comedies, made at his own studio. Between 1923 and 1929 he rivalled Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin as one of the top three silent comedians, writing, directing and starring in some of the best comedy features of this, or any other, era. Episode Three Billy and Icky find a suitably run down cottage which they can adopt as home but first they have to convince the owner that they are trustworthy. They are not helped by local youths who attempt to wreck the cottage, and the handywork looks like their own. Disc Two Episode Four Billy is coming to terms with the relaxed Welsh lifestyle. Icky is not too sure. Some of the Liverpool gang visit - showing how precarious the new lifestyle is. Billy discovers romance. Episode Five Icky is more convinced that Billy is never going to return to Liverpool and decides to make the trip on his own. The music industry was almost comatose with the effect of overblown supergroups producing self-indulgent 'progressive rock'. Consequently the stage was set for four working-class, individualistic and dispossessed teenagers to create chaos and mayhem among the established order of the music business and in 1977 produce one of the most influential albums in rock music. They were the Sex Pistols. This programme tells the story of the making of 'Never Mind The Bollocks - Here's The Sex Pistols', the album that was, and remains today, a key inspiration worldwide for the alternative music scene. In Exclusive interview with John Lydon, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock we tell this incredible story, and take a track by track look at the making of the album. John Lydon gives his unique take on the songs, his lyrical inspirations and the whole Pistols phenomenon. Steve and Glen demonstrate riffs and licks from the songs, and explain the development of the music. Chris Thomas (producer) and Bill Price (Producer/Engineer) set the record straight about the recording sessions and return to the original multitrack tapes for evidence of the band's dynamic musicianship.
